Honestly, I don't know how kids think of some of the stuff they say. It's hilarious and I just feel the need to share one funny story. So, this little girl tells me that her friend's cat died (sad). Then she goes on to say that she didn't think it was kidney failure or heart failure, but....what is the word....oh yes, uterus failure. Then I almost died.
For all I know, it might have actually been the way her cat died. But I doubt it...

More than Fine - Switchfoot
When I wake in the morning,
I want to blow into pieces.
I want more than just ok, more than just ok.
When I’m up with the sunrise
I want more than just blue skies.
I want more than just ok, more than just ok.
I’m not giving up, giving up, not giving up now.
I’m not giving up, giving up, not backing down.
More than fine, more than bent on getting by.
More than fine, more than just ok.
When I’m wet with the sunshine.
I want more than just a good time.
I want more than just ok, more than just ok.
I’m not giving up, giving up, not giving up now.
I’m not giving up, giving up, not selling out.
More than fine, more than bent on getting by.
More than fine, more than just ok.
More than fine, more than bent on getting by.
More than fine, more than just ok.
More than oceans away from the dawn.
More than oceans away from the dawn.
More than oceans away from who we are
More than oceans, more than oceans, yeah.
More than fine, more than bent on getting by.
More than fine, more than just ok.

Is it too early to get excited??
Oh my gosh. NC State basketball. I know, I know...don't get your hopes up..like every year as a Wolfpack fan I learn to settle for less. But this year, I want greatness. I can't help but be excited when I watch youtube videos of our incoming freshmen. So, maybe I'm a little naive, but I don't care. I have a feeling this is going to be a good year, or at least a better year :)

Photo Recap of Prague
Change
So this is what change feels like...so completely different and abnormal, but great at the same time. I got back from Prague a few weeks ago and had the time of my life. I can't begin to describe how much I enjoyed studying abroad there. I took a fibers and surface design studio and it turned out to be super fun and basically like arts and crafts time, which is A-ok with me! I think I grew tremendously as a person while in Prague. I learned how to be more independent and how to cope with difficult issues. When I wasn't hard at work in studio (haha) I was out exploring the city and eating gelato. Prague has the best pastries of absolutely anywhere I can think of, and I probably tried them all, along with the delicious flavors of gelato (my favorites consisted of Cookies, Coffee, and Strawberry) mmmm makes me want some right now just thinking about it! I met some amazing people in Prague and I am so thankful to call them my friends! We actually all met up last night to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D and it was awesome!! I am so blessed to have such great friends and to have had such an awesome experience of a lifetime. I will never forget the fun times I had, esp. the baller playground right beside our hostel, and playing hide-and-seek at night in the park in the rain. Such great memories :)
But now I'm back home and it's just not the same. It's miserably hot in NC and I feel like I'm going to sweat a layer of skin off every time I go outside. And now I have to go to work every day and sit in a boring office instead of exploring castles and cathedrals. It's just not fair! Haha jk, I definitely need the money seeing that I spent a butt-ton of it while I was abroad. It's crazy to think that there are only 3 more weekends that I have at home, and then I'll be in the new apartment with my lovely friends, the Megans! I can't wait to start that new chapter in my life and see what God brings for the rest of it. I know that I need to put all of my trust in Him and that everything in life will work itself out. <3

Itstimefortheendoftheyearcram!
Oh school, I love you but you are killing me. Thankfully, Graphic Design is a sweet major that comes with no tests/final exams, however we do have lots and lots of projects. While the projects are thrilling at times, my brain decided to turn off like three weeks ago. So, I've been putting off doing work on some of them, which is kicking me in the butt right now. And that is why I am doing homework on a saturday night. booooooo! I literally feel like i have ADD because I can't stay focused on my projects at all and I keep thinking about laying out in the sun, kings dominion trip, prague, packing to go home, sleeping....(and the list could go on and on).
My latest accomplishment: Eating 1 entire roll of chocolate chip cookie dough in less than 3 days.
If you can't tell, my life is ridiculously lame right now.
Today's Hadley's birthday though! We went out last night with a few of her boys for dinner and a movie. And then we had ice cream and watched New Moon. Perfect :) After she fell asleep I went into elf mode and started transforming our room into a "Birthday Obstacle Course." Yes. It was amazing. I streamered her desk and her bed to our door so it would be difficult for her to get off of her bed, and put balloons where she would have to step.

Mind-boggling type fact
The other day in my Typography class, my professer (who is a avid typographer) told us that as Graphic Designers and Typographers, we were NEVER to use two spaces after a period at the end of a sentence because that was the type of stuff that we were taught in elementary school. [say what?]
Now I have to train myself to only put one space after a period. great. It's harder than it seems...

Yet another fail..
Blogging is way harder than it seems! Oh well, here goes what's been happening since november (ha!) Finished up last semester in early December and then I got my gallbladder out! Nice little holiday present :) And now we have already begun a new semester and are back in business! Here are a few projects I finished last semester to look at.
Screen-printed t-shirts with Rebus's on it.

Accordion Fold book:

and here was my studio family last semester :)

So this semester is already killing me. Hopefully we will get TONS of snow tomorrow so that we can get a few snow days! That would be amazing!! My dad brought my sled to me today just in case it does snow a lot! Yay for living so close to State! Oh me and the Megan's signed for an apartment next year!!! EXCITING!!! I can't wait to have my own room and bathroom and huge closet! The apartments that we signed with even have a mini-fridge in each bedroom? So I'll probably store lots of junk food in there and get fat. great.

haha but on a good note I turned in my forms and money for studying abroad in Prague today! I just have to wait to be accepted now! If I do get accepted I would be taking a Fibers and Surface design studio this summer for 6 weeks. What an amazing opportunity to study abroad and take such an awesome swing studio dealing with weaving and sewing and creating physical things with my hands! That will be a nice break from all of my graphic design printed projects. So much stuff is on the screen that it's so relieving to physically make something. I can't wait and I'll hopefully find out in a few weeks if I'm accepted!
I've been trying to dive into God's word more and more and it's so eye opening. I can't wrap my thoughts around how peaceful I feel after I have my quiet time. Even though sometimes I feel that I am not as in-tune with God as I should be, I know that our relationship is the most important thing in my life and I'm trying to work more and more on developing it. So I am trying to be a better Christian and to listen harder for what I am supposed to do with my life. Here's an awesome verse I read last night:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
1 Corinthians 2:9
That verse fills me with so much hope! I am so thankful that I love a God who loves me in return no matter what I do! And I am also thankful for the many blessings he has put into my life and made me aware of. I can't wait for the day when I can meet him and be overwhelmed with joy and love because nobody knows what He has prepared for us when we get to heaven, but we all know it's going to be killer awesome!
